After more than 4 years of good and loyal service, LeagueStats will permanently close its doors within minutes of the publication of this article.
There are several reasons for this:
- LeagueStats was initially a project that allowed me to use the APIs (i.e. access to some of the data stored by the League of Legends servers) from Riot Games.
- These APIs has been regularly modified, and major modifications have taken place recently and require a large part of the site to be reworked to apply them to its current operation.
- I no longer have as much time and motivation to devote to this project, for various reasons.
- I feel like I've reached the end of what I wanted to discover thanks to this project.
The LeagueStats server will remain operational for a while, but the site will be deactivated in the next few minutes. Other existing sites work very well and will even go much further than what I could have imagined creating with this site, like LeagueOfGraphs or OP.GG.
